There are a total of twelve notes per octave, named A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G and G#. There are sharp notes or accidentals, and regular or natural notes. As well as sharps, the black keys can also be called flats - ie, B♭, D♭, E♭, G♭, and A♭.
A C# note is the exact same as a D♭ note. This might sound a bit confusing at first, but you'll get used to it with practice, over time.
